TANAH DATAR, POTRETKITA.net - The Talago Kamba Festival in Nagari Tabek Patah, Salimpaung District, Saturday-Sunday (13-14/8) received the attention of the public and tourists. This festival is believed to be able to encourage the nagari to be more advanced.
Tanah Datar Regent Eka Putra said this, Saturday (13/8), while giving a speech at the opening of the festival activities. "The Talago Kamba Festival is amazingly decorated with the traditional maarak anak's procession accompanied by various gifts, such as goats and which mothers hold on to their heads such as jamba, rice, coconut and various other necessities, and also more than a thousand marawa of long cloth accompanying and those installed decorate the talago kamba area," he said.
According to Regent Eka, the concept of One Nagari One Event is not only to revive and introduce customs, cultures such as this tradition, but also to improve the community's economy, MSMEs and tourism.
Of the three implementations of the One Nagari Satu Event, he said, there was a circulation of around Rp2 billion with a total of 26 thousand visitors. The Regent also hopes that the event, which has the distinctive cultural nuances of each region, can bring visitors from various regions in Tanah Datar, even other areas in West Sumatra Province, Indonesian territory and even abroad.

Indo Marajo Nan Bapayuang Ameh, emphasized that his party together with the community felt grateful and expressed gratitude to all those who had supported the children of the Tabek Patah village for the two days which were filled with various artistic performances and culinary markets that provided traditional and distinctive snacks and also MSME products.
Previously, Wali Nagari Tabek Patah H. Krisman Dt. Rajo Nan Kayo said the Talago Kamba Festival, which was held in Talago Pakih, was an effort to introduce the customs and culture of the mutual village to the community or visitors who came.
Krisman said that Nagari Tabek Patah consists of five tribes, namely the Caniago Tribe, Bodi Caniago, Koto Piliang, Kutianyia, Dalimo and Mandahiling Malay tribe. "Currently, the festival icon is the 1000 marawa of this long batik cloth, which is accompanied by a crowd of children from the bako house to the tampatan house," he said.
