Tanah Datar Prepares to Welcome Foreign Tourists

TANAH DATAR, POTRETKITA.net - Tanah Datar Regent Eka Putra said that the area he leads is best prepared to welcome foreign tourists (tourists), if direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Padang resume operations.

"This is a momentum for the world of tourism, especially Tanah Datar Regency. We prepare the best tourist destinations, so that travelers from neighboring countries can visit, prepare souvenirs and our UMKM  products so that they are ready to be bought and taken home by visitors," he said.

According to Eka, Tanah Datar is one of the mandatory destinations that are usually visited by tourists from Malaysia. Because, there is an emotional bond between visitors from Malaysia and Tanah Datar as Luak Nan Tuo.

"Most always want to visit Pagaruyung, want to visit Puncak Pato, want to visit Pariangan, and other destinations. Because they want to know about Minangkabau culture, and we are ready to welcome guests who come," said the alumni of Lemhanas PPRA.

According to him, the establishment of the Pagaruyung Basa Palace as the number one destination in the category of halal tourist attraction throughout West Sumatra will automatically be an added value and convince visitors to come to Pagaruyung.

Meanwhile, the Puncak Bukit Marapalam area, which is located in Nagari Batu Bulek, North Lintau Buo District, is the 2nd place winner of the West Sumatra tourism village appreciation.

Then, Pariangan is the national top 50 for the Indonesian Tourism Village Award or ADWI organized by the Ministry of Tourism. "Tanah Datar also has a one nagari one event program. All of the above strengthens the reason why people should visit Tanah Datar," explained Eka.

Even so, Eka asked the Dinas Pariwisara Tanah Datar (Tourism Office) to check the readiness of the destination so that it is ready to wait for foreign tourists. "Also prepare a tourist village that is ready to wait for guests. Check the cleanliness of the tourist area, check toilets, check souvenirs and also check available tour packages," he said.
