We'll Stay at a Homestay When We Visit Tanah Datar Again

TANAH DATAR, potretkita.net - Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia and Tanah Datar Regency in Indonesia, are separated by distance and country, but they are still brothers because of cultural ties, lineage and blood ties.

This was stated by Tanah Datar Regent, West Sumatra Province; Eka Putra, Saturday (4/2), at the Indojolito Building Batusangkar, while welcoming the visit of his guests who were members of the Minang Family Association and Cultural Heritage Tour group in Negeri Sembilan Malaysia (IKWAMNS).

The delegation led by advisor Dato Diraja Dimuda H. Ahmad Awaludin, visited Tanah Datar Regency to gather information related to culture, as well as touring the area nicknamed Luhak Nan Tuo.

The Regent expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the groups who had taken the time to come to Tanah Datar.

"We are happy if there are many guests, many guests have a lot of fortune. Minangkabau and Malaysia are twin brothers, even though they are different geographical locations but cannot be separated. Historically, they have very close blood ties, the settlements of the Minangkabau tribe," said the Regent.

According to him, Tanah Datar Regency is known as Luhak Nan Tuo, because it is the oldest area in Minangkabau. More than 70 percent of the people work as farmers.

Tanah Datar Regency, according to the regent, has advantages with its beautiful natural beauty and customs and culture. "There is Puncak Aua Sarumpun, Puncak Pato, the Most Beautiful Village in Pariangan, and the most important tourist object, namely Istano Basa Pagaruyung and there is also an event named pacu jawi," he explained.

Dato Raja Dimuda said he was happy to come and be welcomed. "I am happy, our arrival was greeted with great fanfare, I have never tried this, but I was welcomed by pairing deta by the Regent," he said.

He apologized if there was a lack of mistakes during his visit. "Today was very happy, I was surprised when the Regent mentioned that there was a homestay in Tanah Datar. We should be sleeping in a homestay, not a hotel, God willing, in the coming months, I will ask for recommendations for sleeping in a homestay," said Dato Raja Dimuda.

We are here, he said, to get to know our origins here. Today we are very proud, discussing Tanah Datar and Minangkabau, it turns out that there is so much we don't know. We are thankful that today we stayed in touch with the regent to discuss many things.(mus)
